ANNA

The first pic. She is 32 days old here. About 15" and the size of a jumbo pencil.
Welcome to Anna's page. She is my baby girl. And yes, she is named after the bass player from Drain STH. Anna is a Jungle Carpet python (Morelia Spilota Cheyeni) from Australia. She is one of Bob Clark's babies. I have wanted a carpet python for almost nine years ever since I was introduced to the species in Austin. Anna is the culmination of a long standing dream. Here you will find periodic updates and pictures of her as she grows. She'll probably top off around six feet and 40 pounds.
This species of python is an arboreal hunter - that means she likes trees in case you didn't know. As young they feed on tiny rodents and small lizards and frogs. Naturally their diet broadens as they grow larger. They range from the northern coast of Australia to it's arid inner plains. They are very hardy in captivity and generally personable. Young pythons tend to have an attitude problem though - and Anna exemplifies this trait. She bit me 10 times in the first 15 minutes I had her. She'll chill out in time (I hope) if she plans to spend much time out of her cage.
